What to Expect During Your First Visit

Starting with a new dentist can feel like a bigger deal than it needs to be. Here's a plain walkthrough of what your first visit with us actually looks like.

Before you arrive. We'll email a short new-patient form so you're not filling out paperwork in the waiting room. It covers your dental history, any medications, and insurance details if you're using coverage. Plan to arrive about 10 minutes early for your first visit.

The exam. We start with a conversation, not a drill — what brought you in, any concerns, and your goals for your smile. Then we'll take digital X-rays if it's been a while since your last set, followed by a full exam of your teeth, gums, and bite.

The cleaning. In most cases, your first visit includes a full cleaning the same day. Our hygienists work gently and will tell you what they're doing as they go, especially if you're anxious about dental visits.

The plan. If we spot anything that needs attention, we'll walk you through the options, timeline, and cost in plain language before you leave — never as a surprise at checkout. Most first visits run about 60-75 minutes.
